About Me & My Practice

I am a Licensed Psychologist in New York State with over 25 years of experience in the practice of psychotherapy. I obtained my Doctorate of Psychology from Pace University and am a candidate at the Institute for Psychoanalytic Training and Research. In addition to more traditional training in psychology and psychoanalysis, I hold a Master's degree in dance/movement therapy, giving me a rich understanding of the inter-relationship between the mind, body, and emotions.
Psychotherapy can help a person develop self understanding, a broader range of reactions to life events, and greater flexibility of thinking. Therapy is a collaboration between patient and therapist in which a person can explore their feelings, memories and the past and make connections to the present. Within the context of the therapeutic relationship, self knowledge and understanding are gained, feelings and experiences with others are explored, and one can begin to have a different experience of themselves and their relationships with important others.
