My work is rooted in deep respect for the dignity of each being. There is an inter-relationship between the body, mind and spirit and I trust the power of each person to heal.
Although we don’t choose the trauma’s that are brought our way, we do get to choose how to to cope with them in a healthy, healing way. Together, we will eplore those choices and find resources that strengthen you and help you to have a more enriched life.
Using an eclectic approach, with an emphasis on cognitive-behavioral, I consider each individual’s unique background, current situation, needs and values. I am “straight forward” and will work collaboratively with you to meet your needs and goals. I believe that a multi-dimensional, team approach is important. I refer to other professionals for a variety of issues to support you on your healing journey.
My experience is varied and extensive and has afforded me the opportunity to have worked with a variety of individuals and businesses with problems of adult life including: time management/stress related issues, geriatrics, mood disorders, anxiety disorders, eating disorders, trauma and it’s effects, bereavement and loss. Groups have always been an integral part of my experience. I am very active in the Group Psychotherapy Association of Southern California, having served in many Board positions, including President from 2000-2001
