I believe that inherent in the human psyche is the capacity to heal.
In private practice in Woodland Hills, CA for 25 years, using a humanistic psychology and Jungian approach, my interest is in having people integrate the mind-body connection. Whether it's Post-Traumatic Stress Syndrome, anxiety, depression, accidents, health or relationship issues, I value the integrity of ones innate self-healing and work toward increasing an individuals self-esteem. Using a warm, positive and caring approach, I am most concerned about the well-being and wholeness of each individual with whom I work, weaving in humor and lightness when appropriate.
I use Somatic Experiencing with couples and individuals to help people become aware of and release the trauma held within the body. This activates ones own self-healing mechanisms, enhancing energy and moving toward greater creativity. I am trained in all modalities of creative visualization, and certified in Clinical Hypnosis. I created and taught a class in Creative Visualization for cancer patients at Encino-Tarzana Medical Center for seven years. I am currently on Allied Staff there.
I am also the co-author of two books published in April 2006, entitled The Healing Power of Grief, and The Healing Power of Love. In my work as Executive Director of the H.O.P.E. Unit Foundation for Bereavement, Loss and Transition, I work with many people in the area of loss, grief, terminal illness, stress related issues and associated depression. I am a member of GPASC, CAMFT and AAMFT.
