Darcy Lubbers, MFT, ATR-BC maintains a private practice in Santa Monica, CA. Her approach with clients is interactive, intuitive, supportive, holistic, and multifaceted, with a focus on healing and wellness through mind/body integration. She currently works with individuals, couples, families, and groups.
In practice for over 25 years, her orientation draws on perspectives from Psychodynamic, Jungian, Family Systems, Cognitive - Behavioral, Humanistic, Transpersonal, and Positive Psychology traditions.
In addition to her general practice, treatment specialties include working with depression, anxiety, trauma, eating disorders, alcohol and substance abuse, family and personal illness, bereavement, and marriage, relationship, and communication issues.
In addition to Marriage and Family Therapy, Ms. Lubbers’ background also includes training in Clinical Art Therapy, Creativity, Guided Imagery, Hypnosis, Voice Dialogue, Mindfulness (Meditation), Movement Awareness, and other aspects of Integrative Medicine.
Certified as a Mind/Body Educator through the Chopra Center for Well Being in Carlsbad, CA, Ms. Lubbers’ consultation background also includes implementing a complementary therapies program for the B’Sherit Integrative Cancer Center in Los Angeles, and at Renaissance Malibu, a residential drug and alcohol treatment center in Malibu.
Ms. Lubbers currently provides an Art Therapy program for the guests at Bridges to Recovery, a psychological retreat center in Pacific Palisades, CA, and coordinates the Life Balance Program for Bridges Transitions and Outpatient Services. She leads groups in Art Therapy, Mindfulness and Stress Management, Creativity, and Body Image.
