I've spent over twenty years working with couples and individuals in distress. I provide flexible work hours to meet the needs of those with demanding work hours and changing schedules. My desire is to provide an open and comfortable environment that allows genuine communication and sharing of feelings. Both with couples and individuals we often look back and discover early relationships that have influenced our thoughts and feelings our entire life. As adults we can re-examine these relationships and create a more productive, fulfilling sense of ourselves. This often involves changing some of our behaviors and perspectives.
Good communication is a foundation for all our relationships. It is also one of the most difficult and challenging aspects of being a human being. We were all raised with different communication styles and different family systems. My work with couples helps to resolve the "push-pull" that creates distance and conflict. Often it feels like learning a new language to be able to effectively communicate with someone with a different style or system. The need to accommodate and willingness to put in the time and energy to create a more enhanced shared style and system is fundamental to our individual and relationship growth.
I strive to help my patients face challenges with compassion and a nurturing sense of humor. I feel it is a honor to travel the intimate road of discovery and growth with my patients.
